Feeding God’s Children

Week in and week out we serve lunch to our guests who come to us for groceries. Jesus said “I was hungry and you fed me.” When asked how, He responded, “When you did it to one of the least of these my brethern you did it unto me.”

A hot meal prepares the heart to hear God’s word.
It is very gratifying to be a servant to people in need. It is indeed an honor when a child comes to Loaves & Fishes and is hungry, and it warms your heart to be able to make a difference.

The workers in our kitchen look at serving meals at Loaves & Fishes as their ministry .. and it truly is!

Not Bread Alone

While Loaves & Fishes does give groceries and serves a hot lunch to families in need, this is just part of the picture. Our real ministry is bringing glory to Jesus Christ. The way we do that is by showing His love to people.
Jesus said in Matthew 25:40, “When you do this to one of these my brethren, you have done it to me.”
People respond to an inviation to come to the Lord.
At Loaves & Fishes, we care about people, and people need the Lord whether they know it or not. Often I tell folks, “Loaves & Fishes is not a food ministry, even though we do that. Our true ministry is proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Giving to those in need is part of that.

Expanding The Vision

Jesus told his disciples that He needed to take his message to other cities as well. Later on He instructed them to go into the world with a message of love. We feel our call is to more than Tulsa or Oklahoma. Through our manual, “The Greatest is Love” the vision of Loaves & Fishes is going all over the world. We have recieved a request for our manual from as far away as Africa. Currently we support missionaries in several foreign countries. We know that our call is to areas beyond Tulsa.

Shipping a truck load to hurriane victims. In Oklahoma we started outreaches in Wilburton and another in Bristow. We also have an Spanish outreach to those speaking Spanish only at church near our location in East Tulsa. Our desire is to open food programs in the neediest counties of our state. The church at Wilburton is now operating on its own, and soon, Bristow will be as well. Then Loaves & Fishes will be looking for a church to assist in another low income county.
